Would like to hear about experience members have had either hosting a student or going abroad as an exchange student Do you find this valuable?

Hi, Marge, welcome to the wiki. I don't have the sort of experience you are asking about but I'll check my notes (bookmarks) because I know there are a variety of websites which offer assistance in this area.

Anyone else have experience with this? Tess ... (who is also a wiki member) I thought you hosted someone from overseas at your home once for a summer. If so, what was it like? How did they find you? How did you find them? Please share, thanks.

I know this is an old thread, but in case it helps, we have hosted 2 French teachers from the Amity Program for our local High School. We have also hosted some French boys. Out of all of them, only one was not a compatible person for us. All the rest have become lifelong friends. I can heartily endorse the experience. Do you find this valuable?
